Day 2
Himba Cultural Experience and Peet Alberts Rock Engravings

After breakfast, your day of exploration begins with a visit to the Otjikandero Himba Orphanage Village. This immersive cultural experience allows you to learn about the Himba people, one of Namibia’s most iconic indigenous groups known for their distinctive traditional attire and customs. At the orphanage, you’ll witness how Himba children are raised in a traditional environment and have the opportunity to interact with the local community. The funds from your visit help support the orphanage with essential needs such as food and medical care.

In the afternoon, continue your exploration with a visit to the Peet Alberts Rock Engravings, the second-largest rock art site in Namibia. Here, you will marvel at over 1,200 ancient rock engravings, featuring intricate depictions of animals and abstract symbols. This site offers a glimpse into the history and culture of Namibia’s early inhabitants, providing a fascinating contrast to the vibrant Himba culture you experienced earlier in the day.
